Complete SOund Packages

Our sound supervisors, mixers, editors, designers, and foley artists all work together as one unit to get your project’s sound complete and delivered. It’s a “one stop shop” for your post sound needs covering:

  • Dialogue
  • ADR
  • Sound Effects Editing
  • Sound Design
  • Foley
  • Backgrounds
  • 7.1 & 5.1 Re-Recording Mixing and Stereo Downmix
  • M&E Services

The work that goes into each department is managed by a sound supervisor that works directly with your producer and director to get exactly what they need for the project. Don’t need every aspect covered? We can provide your team an à la carte package emphasizing our creative juices in the departments you need most.

ADR & Foley

ADR - Automatic Dialog Recording or Looping, by definition is the process of adding dialog to the track by replacing performances by the actors or recording new voice over content, but we would like to say this is the opportunity to go beyond what was recorded on set to get those exact moments you need to enhance your story. Our ADR and Foley mixers are working with clients within ABC, CBS, NBC-Universal, and SyFy just to name a few, and know the ins and outs of getting the most efficient and high-quality recordings for your project.

Like ADR, Foley is the process of adding or replacing audio that specifically is associated to whatever an actor touches or moves on screen, but in reality Foley is what can make the actors sound like the characters. Creating specific sounds that can establish them with every motion they take. Our mixers and Foley artist have worked on numerous feature films together over the past 8 years and within these years they have honed their skills to intimately know the specific sounds of every genre in the film industry.

Sound Design & Editorial

Sound Design has become a diverse term in this day and age, but simply put our sound designers create and sculpt sounds out of thin air. This is the land of mixing and manipulating field recordings and sound libraries. From huge impacts to subtle backgrounds, to where we take a lion roar, an arc welder, and 1968 GT Ford Mustang, combine and morph them together to create the blackhole ripping through your neighborhood. We love to experiment and create new sounds to fill out the sonic tonalities in your story.

Re-Recording Mixing

Our re-recording mixers take all the tracks from every department, combine them together to create the final mix of your projects sound. It’s the finishing process that levels out the dialogue, lays in the gun click just at the right decibel, and makes the music really pop though that radio when Jack walks into the room. Here, it’s a symphony of sounds and we work our magic to conduct the perfect mix. While final mixing in 7.1, 5.1, or Stereo, we work with professional stages that suite your budget and the scope of your story.

M & E

Need a foreign release with dubbing? We’ve done numerous M&E mixes for worldwide distribution. What is a M&E -music and effects- mix? Simply, we surgically remove all the on-screen dialogue from the production, which also removes a good deal of other sounds layered in the production tracks that now need Foley and effects to fill the gaps. Thus comes in the M&E, we record and lay in these new Foley and effects to be added with music stems then mixed with the production sound to create a session ready for foreign dubbing.

Layback & Deliverables

Once the final mix is completed, depending on your current needs, we can render out a Blu-Ray or master video file with our sound mix for a quick sendoff to festivals or investors. Need a QC -quality control- check, DCP package, or other finishing services? Our associates at Media Toaster are one of the best in town.
